Cross Country Genetics is a leading bovine embryo transfer practice with over 30 years of experience helping producers improve their herds through advanced reproductive technology. With donor centers in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, we’re proud to combine science, skill, and passion for the cattle industry every day. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on team member to join our Kansas clinic located in the beautiful Flint Hills near Manhattan, KS! This full-time position offers variety, teamwork, and the chance to learn from some of the best in the industry. The role includes weekday work and some seasonal travel (overnight/weekend trips, primarily Nov–Dec and mid-April–June). You’ll work both independently and as part of a tight-knit team, with full on-the-job training provided to help you grow in your embryology career.
What You’ll Do
- Embryology work: Assist veterinarians during embryo collections, OPU, and transfer procedures. Search, grade, and cryopreserve embryos and oocytes (IVF and conventional). Maintain accurate embryo collection records and databases.
- Lab management: Prepare and sterilize supplies, organize and pack for on-farm collections, and help set up mobile labs.
- Team communication: Work closely with veterinarians, fellow embryologists, and the lab manager to coordinate schedules, plan ahead, and execute daily and on-farm embryo collections and transfers.
Who We’re Looking For
You’re a detail-oriented problem solver who enjoys both science and agriculture. You’re adaptable – willing and able to work at a microscope or chute-side, inside a lab or outside on-farm. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and love for the beef industry will make you a great fit here.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Biology, Animal Science, Vet Tech, or a related field (or 2-year equivalent degree)
- GPA 3.0+ preferred • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Good hand-eye coordination and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours during busy seasons
Why You’ll Love It Here
- Competitive pay (based on experience)
- Health insurance and retirement plan (after one year)
- Two weeks paid vacation + additional time off in the off-season
- Full training provided — no embryology experience required!
- Rewarding, fast-paced environment where your work directly impacts the cattle industry
